Capcha - Just say no

This post isn't about D&D its more of a rant against capcha on being auto default on blogger. I hate capcha, its annoying and unnecessary. IF you blog gets 2000 hits a day it might be nice to have otherwise you really don't need it. I disabled it early on in my blog and have only had to delete 2 spambots the entire time. Those were the same guy and were fairly easy to spot. Having capcha discourages posting its another annoying step and I implore you to turn yours off. When I'm surfing the nearly 50+ blogs I follow those extra few moments add up.

  1. You can get some fun capchas though, yesterday "Slexier" turned up for me. But no I turned off capcha pretty much straight away. I would guess that some people might not know how to turn it off, and don't want to come across as stupid for not doing it yet. Comment moderation is much better than capcha anyway.

  2. Yes please, no more captchas, they are annoying as crap. As you said, if you get thousands of hits per day and spamming bots are a real concern, then it's ok. But with a few hundred, there is no need.

  3. Yeah I agree. It's better to just moderate the comments.

  4. Very true. Captchas are extremely annoying and shouldn't be set to default. I hope my blog doesn't require captchas like that or that would be really annoying.
